We describe some properties of Renormalization Group transformations. Especially we show why some of the RG transformations have redundant eigenoperators with eigenvalues that cannot be determined by simple dimensional analysis and give the corresponding formulae. We present results from magnetic monopoles in SU (2) lattice gauge theory at finite temperature. The lattices are 16 3 × N t , for N t = 4, 6, 8, 12, at β = 2.5115. Quantities discussed are: the spacial string tension, Polyakov loops, and the screening of timelike and spacelike magnetic currents.

According to two estimated relations between the initial period and the dynamo-generated magnetic dipole field of pulsars, we calculate the statistical distributions of pulsar initial periods. It is found that proto-pulsars are very likely to have rotation periods between 20 and 30 ms, and that most of the pulsars rotate initially at a period < 60 ms.

We give a geometric construct of a modular functor for any simple Lie-algebra and any level by twisting the constructions in [48] and [51] by a certain fractional power of the abelian theory first considered in [32] and further studied in [2].
